First Baptist Church of Vacherie is proud to announce that Mr. J.J. Patterson is our new Minister of Music. He was baptized at the age of 10 years old by Rev. Johnny Price of Plymouth Rock Baptist Church of Houma La., where he started to play the organ at the age of 13. Mr. Patterson is married to Mrs. Carolyn Ruffin Patterson; they have 3 children and I grandson. He retired from the automoblie industry in 2008 and is now employed by the Terrebonne Parish School Board as a Music Instructor. Mr Patterson also attended the University of Southwestern La. He is now the owner of J.J. Paterson School of Music. Mr. Patterson has performed at numerous award winning events such as The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
